CFA Society Toronto and Hillsdale Investment Management Inc. Invite submissions for the 2019 CFA Society Toronto & Hillsdale Canadian Investment Research Award. The application deadline is 04 January 2019.
The award is open to global academics and practitioners conducting research related to Canadian capital markets. CFA Society Toronto and Hillsdale Investment Management Inc. will award $10,000 CAD to the winner at an award reception hosted by CFA Society Toronto on 28 February 2019.
“At its roots, Hillsdale believes in and supports applied investment research. Teaming up with CFA Society Toronto to further such research efforts is a natural for us,” said Harry Marmer, CFA, Executive Vice President, Hillsdale Investment Management.
Submissions will be judged on the potential contribution of their applied research. The topics of interest are related to Canadian capital markets and the areas include any aspect of investment management including portfolio management, asset valuation, risk management, compliance and performance evaluation. Investment fields include traditional and alternative investments, as well as all asset classes and investment vehicles (e.g., fixed income, equities, derivatives, etc.). Research papers are judged on relevance, importance and the degree to which their research has an impact on practitioner’s behaviour. Papers that have been published or accepted for publication, simultaneously submitted for awards with other organizations, or received extensive media coverage will not be considered.
