Results for the 2018 member survey are in!

2018 - Message from the Chair - Pamela Steer

Earlier this year, CFA Society Toronto’s board of directors conducted a member survey to help the Society (CFA Society Toronto) prioritize and allocate resources. We also wanted to gain greater insight into what challenges you are facing and how we can better support you. I would like to thank those who have taken the time to participate in our survey.  The information we have gathered provided us with a deeper understanding of our membership and needs expressed by our three member cohorts by tenure as a charterholder (< 5 years, 5-10 years, and > 10 years).

After reviewing the survey responses, we discovered that the common themes between the cohorts are:

  1. A need for relevant professional/career development;
  2. Networking and social opportunities; and
  3. Access to more information and insights on current Canadian financial markets and trends.

Furthermore, the survey revealed that the Society needs to improve and expand its ability to communicate with our diverse membership.  We are currently summarizing the survey results and will be notifying you as soon as it becomes available on our website.

Finally, the member survey has provided us with a strong focus for the Society’s next three-year strategic plan.  We look forward to sharing further information on the plan with you in the coming weeks.  To ensure that you don’t miss out, please ensure your membership and contact information is up-to-date. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to provide us with your valuable feedback regarding your membership, please contact us at info@cfatoronto.ca or by phone at 416-366-5755 extension 230.

Sincerely,

Pamela Steer, CFA

The Media Contact Directory is a comprehensive guide of our members that gives you direct access to investment industry experts within the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

The directory consists of members who have had their CFA charter for more than five years and have areas of expertise that they are willing to share by accepting phone calls or taking part in media interviews. We have also added a new section for members who have had their charters for three to five years. There are over 25 investment-related areas showcased in the directory.
