Board Chair Message

Brenda King, CFA,

AS THE DAYS GET LONGER AND WARMER, June marks the conclusion of the volunteer year at CFA Society Toronto. I would like to personally thank CFA Society Toronto’s volunteers and staff for their hard work in continuing to provide a meaningful membership experience during these tumultuous times.

This past programming year, CFA Society Toronto steadily curated innovative programming to keep members connected and developed groundbreaking industry educational opportunities.

CFA Society Toronto has been fortunate to host many exciting webinars and special events this year to better support our membership. We are also working to continue to provide opportunities to the next generation of financial professionals, offering events for university students such as the CFA Societies Canada Ethics Challenge and the CFA Society Toronto and CFA Society Ottawa Research Challenge, as well as our awards and scholarship programs.

Our “Day in the Life of” event series, presented by the Mentorship Committee, provides members with regular, interactive Q&A sessions featuring charterholders in a wide range of finance-related careers. The sessions offer an insider’s look at a particular role and career path, providing valuable insights in an informal format that is specifically designed for those new to the industry and those making changes in their career path.

We recognize the increased demand for education about cryptocurrency, offering a speaker series featuring industry thought leaders that is designed to keep learners in touch with emerging trends. Stay tuned to the website, social media, and our e-blasts for information about many more exciting events and educational opportunities launching this fall.

I wish you all a wonderful summer filled with the perfect combination of adventure, rest, and relaxation. CFA_Toronto_RGB Milly
