In acknowledgment of the changing investment landscape, we have changed the name of our Annual Forecast Dinner to the Annual Investment Dinner!  

On October 5th, guests will share an interactive evening of forecasting elements with substantive panel discussions while enjoying the celebrations of our Society’s 80th Anniversary.

Catherine Murray is a prominent speaker and television personality with the Business News Network (BNN), where she is currently the Host of Market Call and Anchor of Business Day PM.

Ms. Murray joined BNN in August, 2011. Before that, she was the Managing Director and the head of Institutional Equities of North South Capital, which she co-founded in 2009, Vice-President of Institutional Sales and Trading at Deutsche Bank, and an associate at Goldman Sachs.  She has extensive experience in the retail sector from her time as a specialty retail associate analyst at William Blair.

Ms. Murray is well-versed on global, sector and industry analysis, as well as merger and acquisition opinions. Murray graduated from The University of Western Ontario with a degree in Politics.

Barry L. Ritholtz is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Ritholtz Wealth Management and is a well-known industry pundit, respected author, and media personality. 

In 2009, his book Bailout Nation was praised as the investment book of the year by Stock Trader’s Almanac. In the Summer of 2014, he began hosting a series on Bloomberg Radio, called Masters in Business, which is one of the most downloaded podcasts in Bloomberg Radio history. As well, he continues to write a daily column for Bloomberg View and a bi-monthly column on Personal Finance and Investing for The Washington Post

Beyond his commentary and published articles, Mr. Ritholtz also authors The Big Picture — a leading financial blog, generating several million page views per month, and is a frequent commentator on economics and financial markets for many major media outlets.
  
He has an undergraduate degree in Political Science, and completed his graduate studies at Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York.

Howard Marks, CFA

Howard Marks is a renowned financial expert, best known for his highly regarded investment memos; On The Couch and What Does the Market Know? He is the co-founder of Oaktree Capital, where he has served as Co-Charman since 1995, and is also a proud CFA charterholder.

Previously, Mr. Marks was the Chief Investment Officer for Domestic Fixed Income at The TCW Group Inc., as well as Vice President and senior portfolio manager in charge of convertible and high yield securities at Citicorp Investment Management.

Mr. Marks holds a B.S.Ec. degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business of the University of Chicago. He is also an active member of several boards and committees for a multitude of organizations.

Michael J. Mauboussin

Michael J. Mauboussin is a financial expert, accomplished author, and celebrated professor. Currently, he is the Managing Director and Head of Global Financial Strategies at Credit Suisse. His areas of expertise include capital markets, valuation, competitive strategy, and decision making.

Previously, Mr. Mauboussin was the Chief Investment Strategist at Legg Mason Capital Management, and he is the author of multiple books, including The Success Equation: Untangling Skill and Luck in Business, Sports, and Investing, and Think Twice: Harnessing the Power of Counter Intuition.

He has been an adjunct professor of finance at Columbia Business School since 1993 and is on the faculty of the Heilbrunn Center for Graham and Dodd Investing.

Annenberg University Professor, University of Pennsylvania
Co-Leader, Good Judgement Project
Co-Author, SuperForecasting


Philip Tetlock is the Annenberg University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, with appointments in Wharton, psychology and political science. He is co-leader of the Good Judgment Project, a multi-year forecasting study, as well as the author of Expert Political Judgment and co-author of ‘SuperForecasting’.

In SuperForecasting, Mr. Tetlock offers a masterwork on prediction, drawing on decades of research and the results of massive, government-funded forecasting tournament. The Good Judgment Project aggregates predictions from tens of thousands of ordinary people and forecasts global events with fairly accurate results.

He earned his Ph.D. from Yale University and is a well-respected academic, receiving awards for his work from several notable scientific societies and foundations.
