Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Open to all active or retired CAF personnel who meet eligibility requirements and are seeking opportunities to transition into the financial industry in the next 24 months. Eligibility requirements include:
- Must be a permanent resident of Canada or Canadian citizen
- Must meet the CFA program entrance requirements
- Military service record in good standing
- Must commit to completing the CFA Program (including approximately 300 hours of study followed by a comprehensive exam per level)
- Valid international travel passport holder
- Letter of recommendation from most recent supervisor (where obtainable)
- Must, at the request of CFA Society Toronto, sign a scholarship agreement in form and substance satisfactory to CFA Society Toronto
CFA Program Entrance Requirements
To register for the CFA exam, you must meet one of the following entrance requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent program. Most CFA Program applicants have the education to enrol in graduate studies in the country where they earned their degree.
Final-Year Student
Students in the final year of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent program. You may register for the Level I Exam, but must complete the degree program prior to registering for Level II.
Professional Experience
Have a combination of four years of full-time work experience and/or higher education. Your full-time work does not need to be investment-related but part-time work does NOT qualify for this track.
