Current opportunities

The External Relations portfolio’s purpose is to engage and manage external relationships that are important to the organization. The committee members will collaborate with CFA Society Toronto staff to execute defined deliverables and have a designated board member to oversee its mandate and to help accomplish set deliverables. The focus of the committee is to increase engagement, build awareness and enhance the CFA brand and charter, to attract new members and raise the profile of CFA Society Toronto.

Duration: Committee roles will be in place by early December 2021 with the first committee meeting planned before the winter holidays in December. Volunteer members are eligible to serve two renewable three year terms. Once the committee is established, the Chair and Vice Chair positions are eligible to serve two renewable one year terms.

The Finance & Audit Committee (“the Committee”) provides financial oversight of the society and all assets, consistent with the best interests of members. The Committee reviews and analyses the quarterly financial results of the organization as well as disbursements and journal entries. The Committee is also responsible for finalizing and recommending the annual budget(s) of the Society. Additionally, the Committee is to assist the board in the fulfillment of its governance functions fully and efficiently. The Finance & Audit Committee works with management and the external auditors to ensure the smooth functioning of the audit process and open dialogue between the external auditor and the Board. The Committee also oversees the procurement of external auditor services.

Duration: The Finance & Audit Committee is a Board standing committee whose members are approved at the Annual Meeting in mid-November. CFA Society Toronto’s Board and standing committees’ year runs from the Annual Meeting date in mid-November until the following year. The position is a 3-year term, renewable once
