Research Challenge


The 'Research Challenge' is an equity research competition among student teams from the world’s top university business and finance programs. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company, and present their findings to an expert panel. The teams are judged on their written reports and presentations. Throughout the competition, leading investment professionals volunteer as mentors and judges and teach these students best practices in equity research and corporate analysis. The winning team will be acknowledged at our Annual Awards Reception, in The Analystand on the Society’s social media channels.Read More

Canadian Ethics


The 'Ethics Challenge' is a competition between student teams from undergraduate and graduate finance or economics programs that analyze a case and flag the ethical dilemma(s) where right and wrong may not be apparent. Teams have ten minutes to present their findings in front of a panel of senior charterholders.  Teams are judged on the content of their presentation, their presentation skills, and their responses in the judge's Q and A session.  The winning team will be acknowledged at our Annual Awards Reception, in The Analystand on the Society’s social media channels.Read More

Research Award

Scholarship Awards


Three scholarships: first place $3,000, second place $2,000, and third place $1,000 (CAD), are available to candidates who are in their third year of finance and economic study and have a minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent) in their program. As part of the adjudication process, students are asked to write an essay describing why they believe they are a candidate for one of the scholarships and submit other application materials.
