Volunteer Opportunities

CFA Society Toronto is a not-for-profit organization that relies heavily on support from committee volunteers.  Our volunteers help bring together the content and speakers for professional development events, contribute to publications and promote the value of the charter.  Volunteering for one of the many CFA Society Toronto committees is an excellent way for members to share information and ideas with a community of peers. In addition to contributing to the society's success, volunteers gain visibility as participants in their profession, enhance leadership skills, as well as contribute to professional development.  If you have any questions about our volunteer program or the volunteer positions listed below, please contact us at volunteer@cfatoronto.ca.  To check out more information on all of the Society's committees, please click here.

The CFA Society Toronto would like to recognize it's hard-working and passionate volunteers.  Each quarter we're going to "spotlight" a volunteer to thank them for their time and commitment to our mission.

Diversity & Inclusion, 4th Quarter
Camilla Sutton, MBA, CMT, CFA
We would like to thank Camilla Sutton for her active Society involvement on the Membership, Member Communications and University Relations Committees.  Camilla has represented the Society as a judge for various initiatives and took part in speaking engagements at local universities to inform future practitioners the mission and vision of CFA Society Toronto and how to get involved.  Furthermore, Camilla is an active volunteer on the member Communications Committee as a regular contributor to the Society's quarterly publication, The Analyst.  Recently, she profiled 5 impressive Bay Street CFA charterholders in the March 2017 issue

Trust & Ethics, 3rd Quarter
  Kevin Veenstra, CPA, CFA
Kevin Veenstra was vey busy this past January getting trained by CFA Institute to facilitate its ethical decision-making interactive presentation.  Soon after completing the training, he volunteered to present at the 2017 Canadian Ethics Challenge:  Local Competition on 19 January.  In March, Kevin will begin presenting to universities across Ontario.  We would like to thank Kevin for his hard work as a volunteer with the Society's Finance Committee and now as a volunteer outreach representative.
