Sue Lemon, CFA
Chief Executive Officer & Director
Sue is CFA Society Toronto’s Chief Executive Officer and leads the Society’s strategic direction which includes promoting high ethical standards in the financial industry and increasing the visibility of the charter with key partners in the financial community. An experienced and successful investment executive in fixed income markets Sue formed MSL Advisory Corp in 2008. Through-out her career Sue has held progressively senior roles at Canada Trust, CT Investment Counsel, Nesbitt Thomson, and CIBC World Markets. Sue led her team at CIBC to a #1 ranking in the Greenwich sales survey. Sue is a Past President of the Society and has been an active volunteer for the past 20 years, notably mentoring young industry professionals. Sue is a cum laude graduate of Ryerson Business Management and earned her charter in 1989.
Chief Operating Officer
Norma is responsible for the day-to-day activities of CFA Society Toronto’s management office including: technology resources oversight, tactical marketing, reputation management, and providing direction, strategy and support for society’s governance, nominations, and member communications portfolios. She also acts as board secretary and supports the president in development initiatives which include by-law interpretation and development, board development and board manual updates. Norma has 15+ years of experience in association and not-for-profit management.
Director, Programs & Member Services
Jenny provides the day-to-day strategic direction for all professional development program activity, as well as oversight on marketing communications and corporate engagement/sponsor relations for the Society. Working alongside the COO, Jenny is involved with the development and implementation of strategic objectives in these core areas as they relate to achieving the Society's vision.
Manager, Information Technology
Alexandra is responsible for managing CFA Society Toronto’s technology infrastructure and all technology related projects. Her responsibilities include administration and maintenance of the society’s membership database and website, help desk functionality and performing data analysis. Alexandra serves as the main point of contact on all IT-related matters and liaises with outsourced vendors for hardware and software issues. Alexandra has over 16 years of experience in project management, help-desk, training and network administration. She earned her B.A. and B.Ed. from York University as well as a Diploma in Network Administration.
Manager, Volunteer Relations
Mike is responsible for leading and managing the implementation of volunteer recognition programs and appreciation initiatives to maximize volunteer satisfaction, engagement and support Society priorities. He will lead our annual recruitment program and evaluation to enhance member engagement through our volunteer programs. Mike will also be the staff liaison for the Awards & University Relations and Mentorship Committees.
Corporate Engagement and Sponsor Relations Manager
Chris is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for corporate engagement and the stewardship of the Society's sponsors and partners. Chris works to identify and secure cross-industry prospect opportunities with organizations that share a common interest with our members. Chris also works to foster opportunities with existing sponsors to support the Society's overall operations as well as our professional development program.
Marketing & Communications Specialist
Jonathan's goal is to enrich the Society's brand within the investment community. He oversees the development of marketing activities and assists in providing strategic direction for the overall promotion of the Society's mission initiatives. Jonathan is responsible for leading the project management, execution, and measurement of marketing and communications programs. Jonathan is also the main point of contact for media inquiries and media relations.
Programs & Events Associate
Ashley works directly with programming committees to plan and execute events. She works alongside the following committees: Career Management, Corporate Finance, External Relations & Advocacy, Fixed Income, Portfolio Management and Private Client. Ashley also plans the following Society events including various member-only events, Annual Investment Dinner, New Member Welcome Reception, Local & Canadian Ethics Challenge, and CFA Institute's Research Challenge & Annual Awards Reception.
Programs & Events Associate
Dawn works directly with programming committees to plan and execute events. Her committees include: Continuing Education, Equity, Kitchener-Waterloo and Risk Management & Alternative Investments. She also plans a number of Society events including various annual volunteer events, Annual CFA Charter Recognition, Annual Mentorship Reception, and Financial Journalism Awards reception.
Canadian Region, Relationship Manager
Candice fulfills a dual role within CFA Society Toronto with .75 time allocated to providing support to the Canadian Region and .25 time allocated to CFA Society Toronto. Candice acts as project and event manager for the Presidents Council Representative, the Canadian Advocacy Council, the Canadian Investment Performance Council, and all national initiatives put forward by the Canadian CFA Societies. In her role for CFA Society Toronto Candice manages sponsorship fulfillment. Candice has a Diploma in Business Administration Management from George Brown College.
Alix provides direct customer service for members, office visitors while performing administrative and office support activities for the CEO and board. She is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency within the office. Alix coordinates all membership applications and is the staff liaison to the Membership Committee. She coordinates all finance functions to support our third party accounting service provider. Alix also oversees the administration of the Job Postings services.
